The Security Of A Digital Plant

Select Title The Security Of A Digital Plant

As we all watched the saga of the Mason County Courthouse fire this February, it really struck a chord. Our systems are fragile, paper burns faster than any other material, and had it not been for a fortuitous removal of the county’s title documentation prior to the fire, there would have been even more damage done to this Hill Country community.

We hope to have the entire Mason County title catalog digitized by September, 2021

Digital Backups are Crucial

County data for large urban areas are kept in the cloud by mandate, while smaller communities are still mostly paper-driven. Now, back up for a second and consider that what drives the need for good records in the cities are the associated values of the land in question. “High-value land deserves higher levels of data security” may be the inference here. But last time we looked, our Texas Hill Country valuations have sky-rocketed and continue to do so. Not to mention, these are our homes and legacies. Is our property any less valuable?

The Hill Country’s title records are as valuable as any city’s, so why are they still so fragile?

We started with Fredericksburg, we are expanding to Mason and Blanco counties. We will use a cloud-stored database of all the title records of these counties that is updated every 30 days from the courthouse records. Not only does this allow us to conduct our title research more quickly and thoroughly, but it also means that we don’t have important documentation being passed hand-to-hand or stored in a physical file vault. In order for us to lose our data, the United States would need to lose power.

We protect what’s valuable to us

Select Title Fredericksburg was founded as a local response to a local need for shorter wait-times and a greater level of service to real estate brokers, salespersons, banks, and sellers who were all in need of a more sophisticated and efficient process. We have delivered this, simply, through our modern, “calm” title process. As a side benefit, we’ve provided protection to the counties we serve in the form of a cohesive backup of all title files. Together, we all win.
